Thereās something timeless about autumn ā the gentle hush of falling leaves, the cozy scent of spiced treats, and the way every golden afternoon feels like a memory waiting to be made. This season, our Mommy & Me visit to the Barnyard Farm Pumpkin Patch was a day Iāll cherish for years to come.
Ā
From the moment we arrived, laughter and the scent of fresh hay filled the air. My little oneās eyes sparkled with excitement as we were greeted by friendly farm animals waiting for a pat or a handful of feed. We started our morning by feeding the goats and sheep, giggling as they nuzzled gently against our palms. Then came the joy of milking a cow for the very first time ā a surprisingly calm, grounding experience that made us both appreciate the simplicity of farm life.
Ā
Afterwards, we took a wagon ride through the pumpkin fields, the crisp autumn wind brushing past as we admired rows of orange treasures scattered across the land. My little one waved at other families as the wagon bumped along the path, each turn unveiling a new delight ā the hay play area, the cow train circling the barnyard, and the giant jumping pillow where laughter seemed endless.
Ā
We took a break for snacks and warm apple cider, enjoying a few pumpkin-shaped cookies at a picnic table surrounded by bales of hay. Soon after, we discovered the corn crib play area ā an enormous sandbox filled with dried corn kernels that quickly became a favorite spot for digging, scooping, and joyful mess-making. The afternoon drifted into a golden glow as we swung together beneath the trees, her tiny legs pumping high into the sky, mine gently swaying beside her. We watched as families posed for photos, children tumbled in hay piles, and the sun dipped softly behind the barns.
Ā
Before we left, we wandered back into the pumpkin field one last time to find āthe perfect one.ā Of course, my little one insisted on a small, round pumpkin ā āMama!ā she yelled while trying to pick it up. And thatās the one we took home. That evening, as we carved our pumpkins and prepared for Halloween, I couldnāt help but feel immense gratitude ā for motherhood, for simple joys, and for the chance to experience wonder all over again through my childās eyes. These moments ā sticky fingers, hay-filled shoes, tired smiles ā are what lifeās sweetest chapters are made of.
Ā
Wishing you and your little ones a cozy, joy-filled Halloween ā from our family to yours.Ā ![]()
